I am becoming a Certified Mother Nature Circle Facilitator.

When I was expecting my first child, my world was just beginning to expand in ways I couldn’t yet name. At the time, the only support system I really knew about was the magical work of doulas - women who guide mothers through pregnancy, birth, and those fragile first weeks postpartum.

But it wasn’t until later, when I joined a mommy-and-me playgroup with my four-month-old, that something deeper clicked into place.

It wasn’t just about getting out of the house, it was about normalizing what motherhood looks like in the transformational first year. The woman who held that space, Paige, introduced a concept that shaped my entire parenting (and self-mothering) philosophy: creating “YES areas.”

Spaces where curiosity is welcomed.
Where exploration is safe.
Where growth is not controlled, but allowed and encouraged.

Looking back, I can see now: that was the beginning of my own journey. Not just as a mother, but as a guide.

Fast forward seven years.

Now, I am the one holding space.

Not in the same form, not in the same setting, but very much with intention, in my own style.

Through the Mother Journey Leadership card deck and using the Istennő cards by Tina Modern Goddess, I am creating circles that are multicultural and inclusive. Because “mothering” is not limited to raising children.

We mother ideas.
We mother communities.
We mother creative projects.
We mother each other.

The Mother Nature Project embraces this broader definition, welcoming all women who feel the call to nurture, to create, to hold.

As I move through this certification journey, I find myself wishing it wouldn’t end.

There is something deeply nourishing about sitting in these shared spaces: listening to the wisdom of other women, witnessing their stories, feeling the collective joy that arises when connection happens.

For some, these calls are rare moments of togetherness. Some women join from remote places, from isolated communities, from lives where gathering with other women isn’t easily accessible. And yet, through a screen, something real and meaningful is created. Connection finds a way.

Hosting circles online feels natural to me.

For over twelve years, I’ve lived far from my homeland, maintaining relationships across distance. That experience shaped how I see connection: not bound by geography, but rooted in depth.

I believe deeply in the power of sharing our stories.

Because no matter where we live, being a woman carries threads of shared experience: responsibility, transformation, care, resilience.

No matter how different our cultures, languages, or environments may be… when women gather and speak honestly, we recognize ourselves in each other: again and again. There is something profoundly reassuring in that.

Something that reminds us that we are not alone.

This milestone is not just about a certification.

It is about stepping more fully into a role I have been growing into for years.

Holding space.
Listening deeply.
Creating “YES areas” for women, just as someone once did for me.

And trusting that from these spaces, something beautiful will continue to grow.

I have always been longing to spend time with other women in a judgement-free environment where the care and love towards each other carry us through our days even when we are not in that safe and judgement-free environment.

This is what drives me when I plan our online women’s circles. Even if we have close friends whom we dearly love and they love us back; and even if they are invaluable part of our lives, what a women’s circle provides is unique.

You may or may not know the members of the circle and that can be scary to deal with. But let me tell you this:

How does a women’s circle work?

One of the beauty of women’s circle is that we listen to the wisdom of other women’s stories and when feelings come up, we notice them and reflect on them from the perspective what it means for us, because we are turning the focus back on ourselves.

• There might be a lot less talking during a circle than what you imagine.

• Moments of silence are part of it.

• Not being ready to share: completely accepted and respected.

• Feeling like you are not making complete sense while describing feelings, a wish, a hope: absolutely welcome.

We join to this shared time with different mental and emotional states and from various physical environments.

Some show up in their pajamas.

Some are nervous about talking at a normal volume because they are worried their kids will hear their voice and that might disturb the bedtime routine that is taking place next door.

Others enter the online space with a barking dog which might be awkward in some spaces but not in The Gentle Ground’s Online Circle.

We truly mean when we say this: please come as you are. Holding ourselves to the beautiful guidelines of the Mother Nature Method, combined with our passion for wanting you to experience that you are accepted and you are worthy of attention, I warmly invite you to the next two circles in March.

I have been feeling a deep curiosity towards holding circles in my native tongue: Hungarian. Connecting with women living in Hungary and around the world is a way for me to connect to my roots as well.
