We care about your privacy. This page tells you what personal information we collect, why we collect it, and what we do with it. We follow the rules of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

1. Who We Are

The Gentle Ground (TGG) is a community and events platform for highly sensitive women. We are based in Utrecht, the Netherlands.

2. What Information We Collect

We only collect information that we truly need. We collect:

  • Your name

  • Your email address

  • Payment information when you buy a ticket for an event (processed by Hipsy or Google Forms)

We do not collect sensitive information like your address, phone number, or date of birth.

3. Why We Collect It

We use your information for these reasons:

  • To send you our newsletter and updates via Substack

  • To register you for events and workshops

  • To process your payment for events

  • To contact you about the event you signed up for

We only use your information for the reason you gave it to us. Nothing else.

4. Legal Basis

Under GDPR, we need a legal reason to use your data. We use the following:

  • Consent: you chose to sign up to our newsletter or community

  • Contract: you bought a ticket for one of our events

You can withdraw your consent at any time. Just write to us or unsubscribe from our newsletter.

5. Who We Share Your Data With

We use a small number of trusted tools to run TGG. These tools may store your data:

  • Substack (newsletter platform, USA based)

  • Hipsy (event registration, Netherlands based)

  • Google Forms (registration forms, USA based)

  • Instagram (Meta, USA based)

We do not sell your data. We never share your data with other organisations for their own use.

Some of our tools are based outside of the European Union (USA). These tools have agreements in place that meet GDPR requirements (Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent).

6. How Long We Keep Your Data

We keep your data for as long as needed. Specifically:

  • Newsletter subscribers: as long as you stay subscribed

  • Event participants: up to 2 years after the event, for administrative purposes

When we no longer need your data, we delete it.

7. Your Rights

You have the following rights under GDPR:

  • Right to access: you can ask us what data we hold about you

  • Right to correction: you can ask us to correct wrong information

  • Right to deletion: you can ask us to delete your data

  • Right to object: you can ask us to stop using your data

  • Right to data portability: you can ask us to send you your data

To use any of these rights, write to us at hello@thegentleground.com. We will respond within 30 days.

You also have the right to file a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens) at autoriteitpersoonsgegevens.nl.

8. Cookies

Our website may use basic cookies for technical reasons (for example, to make the site work). We do not use cookies for advertising or tracking.

If we add more cookies in the future, we will update this page.

9. Changes to This Statement

We may update this privacy statement from time to time. The date at the top of this page will always show when it was last changed.

If we make a big change, we will let you know by email or through our newsletter.
